Republicans hate for President Obama makes them look petty.

The Republican party, the Tea Party and conservatives have been trying to find a reason to impeach President Obama since 7 weeks into his first term. When they first brought up impeachment they didn’t even have a reason, they just thought it was a good idea. If you disagree with Republicans they will try to oust you, rather than help the country and beat you in an election.

Republican ideology is fundamentally flawed, or favors the wealthy, the white, corporations, lobbyists and the almighty dollar. People fail to matter to then, they are so focused on hurting Obama and Democrats that people are hurt by them everyday. The Republican party cannot handle a Democrat in office. Their only response is to inflame hate and work to remove them from office. It is another flaw in their ideology, if you are not with them, you are against him.

Now anything that might not fit into Republican thinking, needs Congressional hearings to ferret out the problem. For them the problem is always President Obama and the Democrat party. Obama made the IRS check our Tea Party groups looking for tax exempt status, I guess the IRS should not investigate organizations seeking that status. Benghazi is President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s.fault, although Republicans refuse requests for more security personnel.

From day 1 Republicans and their talking heads have tried to hurt the President. They made making him a one term president their top priority. That doesn’t really leave room for negotiations or compromise. Nor does it show a clear thinking party.

They have taken the side of the NRA on Gun Control, Banks on Banking Reform, Corporations on raising the minimum wage and so on and so forth. Anything to hurt the President. Now they are saying he was in the wrong because a Marine held an umbrella over his head when it was raining.

2 important points, the Marine Corps is the Presidents standing army, he can use them however necessary. It is a honor for a Marine to do anything for the President, that is who we are there to serve. The President outranks the Commandant of the Marine Corps. There are pictures of three previous Republican Presidents having umbrellas held over their heads, one was by a Marine.

This is proof of the pettyness and the lack of anything to truly attack him on. They have been trying for over 4 years to get to him. Nothing has, because manufacturing a crisis doesn’t work. Republicans need to work for the people and rely on effort to return them to office.

Sequestration results in suspension of Military Tuition Assistance program.

Yet another casualty of the sequester. All but one branch of the mulitary, the Navy, has suspended the popular tuition assistance program. One of the biggest reasons people enlist is because of the education benefits. I thought Republicans said the sequester woukd not have any effect on us. Is that just another Republican lie?

The across the board cuts that have cost the military $46 billion is causing these cuts. The military comptroller recomended the TA be cut instead of something else. This suspension is for fiscal year 2013, which lasts until October. The suspension does not affect those currently enrolled in classes using previously aporoved tuition assistance. Each branch is responsible for funding and administering the TA programs.

The program can only be used by active duty service members pursuing an educational goal. Member of the National Guard and reserve units can use the program while on active duty. The program pays up to $4,500 per year per student. In fiscal year 2012, in the Army alone, 201,000 soldiers took advantage of the Armys TA program. It provided $373 million, helping 2,831 soldiers earn their associates degree, 4,495 earned their bachelors degree and 1,946 earned their graduate degrees. This is obviously something that helps these soldiers when they re-enter the work force.

Now please remember that while President Obama and the Democrats worked to avoid this sequester. All the while Paul Ryan said these cuts were a good thing, John Boehner said he got 98% of what he wanted and Mitch Mcconnell said revenue was off the table. Republicans wanted these cuts, they got them. Now they are saying that they will look into this. Thank you Republicans for taking care of Americas true heros, the Military.

America the strong. Why I believe we will pull through these polarizing times.

I was born in 1974, so obviously I had no interest in government or politics for quite some time. I served in the United States Marine Corps, I was a mortarman & security forces. I am very proud of my service. We live in a country were citizenship is granted not earned, which is an incredible thing. If you are born here, America is yours too. Our 13 colonies went to war with one of the most powerful nations in the world to earn our freedom. Our nations founding fathers drew up a document guaranteeing freedom of speech, religion & numerous other freedoms many did not have. We fought against all odds & won. We earned our nation with blood, sweat & the lived of our soldiers. Throughout the next 80 or so years we had a couple other scuffles, worked on trade with other countries & strengthening our union. Then came our Civil War, not only did it break our nation, it pitted brother against brother in savage battles. So many fathers, sons, cousins & friends died it nearly finished our union. The South seceeded, the Norths generals were incompetent &President Lincoln struck a blow that altered our history for the good. With a stroke of a pen he freed African Americans from slavery, they still were not treated right but it was a start. We came through a Civil War a damaged but stronger nation. Ovet the next 45 or so years of insanity. Wid West, building trains, our industrial complex spinning faster & faster & America becoming a world power. We entered World War I & did what we had to do. Maybe 15 to 18 years later we entered the Great Depression, this almost destroyed us economically. But our Leaders rallied around each other, circled the wagons & fought to bring us through. Almost as soon as we came through this the Japanese hit Pearl Habor. We immeadiatly pit our military machine in motion & again did what we had to. Ues if we would have went earlier we could have saved more lives, but we didnt. Not to gloss over any important facts but this is not a real history lesson, it is just a way for me to show why I believe. Over the next 50 some years we were in the Korean War, made a mess of the Vietnam War, had terrorists take our people hostages & had the first Gulf War. Not to mention the Civil Rights movement led by Martin Luther King. A way to make all men equal regardless of color creed or anything. MLK was shot & killed , another American Tragedy, a great man meets a horrible end. But it started something that is still happening today. Many other things happened that effected our country but we always came out a stronger nation. Then 9/11 happened, a tragedy that was uncomprehensible. A terrorist attact flying planes into a landmark to kill innocents. We would of course hunt down the people responsible, we united behind a President no one really wanted. We went to war with Afghanistan. While at war the President gave our leaders false information about another country in order to push us to war. We invaded Iraq, we swamped them & list more people after invasion than during. Then our stock market crashed because of several reasons, but the one that sticks out the most is corporate greed. Obama swept into office in 2008, Tea Party swept in in 2010, Obama won again in 2012 & through all that part the GOP did everything they could to make him a one term president. When that didnt work, they just acted from spite. It feels as if our government is broken. But fellow Americans have heart. We have as a nation come through tougher times then this. Political polarization is nothing compared to the American will. It is tough now & our beliefs are shaken but if we stay the course, work for whats right, believe in community our AMERICAN SPIRIT will win out.
