ISIS beheads journalist. How does the United States need to respond?

ISIS, also known as ISIL or Al Quadea in Iraq has struck a nerve with United States population. James Foley was kidnapped, held hostage and then beheaded by the terrorist organization.  This is just weeks after they attacked a rare religious sect in Iraq. Just weeks after President Obama authorized strategic airstrikes. It seems as if ISIS is tempting the United States back into Iraq. The war mongers are pounding their drums louder now.

ISIS had convinced the Iraqi people that they were unbeatable. ISIS owes much of its success to the fact that Iraqi military officers who were ousted by the U.S. have joined there cause. ISIS has not suffered many, if any losses until faced by the Peshewars and the United States military. When faced by these two ISIS backed off. ISIS claims that they are the leaders of the Muslim world. Where in truth, most Muslims want nothing to do with them. They are a radical element that Republican Marco Rubio says needs to be exterminated.

People were upset that the U.S. would not pay 100 million euros or $132 million dollars for the release of Foley. The U.S. does not pay ransoms to terrorist organization or any organization. If a group or family decides to do so, the government typically will let them do so, despite that money assisting a terrorist organization. It is a horrible tragedy and no one deserves to be harmed like that. But I am sure Foley knew what the dangers of this assignment were. Again that does not make them right, but he had to be aware of the risk he was taking. Anyone going over there, soldier, reporter or medical workers should have these risks presented to them.

When I heard President Obama authorized air strikes I was appalled. I knew it wouldnt be long until we had soldiers over there fighting again. Today I have heard that it may be happening much sooner then I thought. We do not need to fight another war. Our country is tired, devastated and broke because of the last 2. Our soldiers need to recover and be with family. This is not the answer. We have many special operations units and drones to do this work. Yell about drones all you want. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER AMERICAN TO DIE IN IRAQ!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. It will not end well. I agree that action needs to be taken. But noy another war.

I am an adamant President Obama supporter. I love many of his policies and agree with even more. His whole presidency has been one tough decision after another. This is no different. Congressman John McCain has been beating his war drum for years. The Republicans and there puppeteers have been trying to get us in every country that has a case of marital discord. President Obama and Democrats have held strong until now. The region has always had issues, religious zealots tend to hate a lot of people. We are not the country to fix it. I do not know if Iraqis are better off now or before the war but our country is not better off. We have recovered quite a bit but not enough to go to war again. Please President Obama, I implore you, do not go to war.

Why the War on Homosexuality and the insistence of forcing religion on the American people?

Apparently Democrats are focusing their efforts on making Christmas illegal. According to Governor Rick Perry, Democrats want to make it ok for Homosexuals to serve in the military but won’t let kids say Merry Christmas. It is a sad day in America when people actually believe that.

Republicans like Perry, are on the constant attack of Homosexuality on the basis of religion. The First Amendment guards our religious freedom and prevents the government from making a state religion. Why the protection for the 2nd Amendment but the trampling of the 1st Amendment? We are not a theocracy, we are a Democracy. In case the Republicans and their supporters forgot. I have the right to worship the grass in my yard. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ON ME OR ANYONE ELSE.

The Republicans will not vev able to hide their feelings behind their anti-gay supporters. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2013 is coming up for vote. Republicans true feelings toward Homosexuality will be out in the open for all to see. This act protects gay employees for being fired for being gay. It means an employer can put up a sign in their window saying we will not hire gay people. It is currently legal under Federal Law. It protects sex, color, age and disabilities but not sexual orientation. It recently recieved its 50 sponsor, Harry Reid.

Marco Rubio said that if there is anything in the Immigration Reform Bill about Homosexual it will kill the bill. This is a bill he staked his whole future in politics on, his stance on Homosexuality is obvious. He said “If this bill has in it something that gives gay couples immigration rights and so forth it kills the bill. I’m gone, I’m off it and I’ve said that repeatedly and I don’t think that’s going to happen and it shouldn’t happen.” Tell us how you really feel Senator Rubio.

Governor Perry signed a bill making it legal to say Merry Christmas. He is also for teaching Creationism, prayer in school and making Abortion illegal. While spending his time on these important issues this good Christian is denying poor children Health Care because of his dislike of President Obama. I hope you are saying a prayer in every religion before you start school; because if you do not, Texas will be facing several Civil Suits.

Karl Rove launches Benghazi themed attack ad aimed at Hillary Clinton, but Benghazi is not a political stunt.

Less than 5 months into President Obama’s second term, Karl Rove kicked off the 2016 presidential campaign with a Benghazi themed attack ad that directly takes aim at Hillary Clinton. The web ad was launched by the Karl Rove funded American Crossroads. They spent more than $21 million during the last election. It is the freshest evidence that hyperpartisan SUPER-PAC slush funds are now a core part of the permanent campaign.

The American Crossroads ad matters because it is a preemptive strike against Hillary Clinton and her possible 2016 presidential campaign run. The days of Clinton being Obama’s favorite cabinet member with Republicans are apparently over. According to polls Hillary Clinton easily bears Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan. Chris Christie is closest in the polls.

The Rove ad never mentions President Obama by name and only shows him briefly standing beside Clinton. They were standing together at Andrews Airforce Base when Ambassador Stevens and his aides bodies arrived back in the U.S. Tie clip of Clinton speaking is important because it uses the most credible criticism of the Obama administration in the wake of the Benghazi attack. It shows her incorrectly blaming the awful internet video that the we had nothing to do with.

Roves video portrays Clinton as the problem, showing a shift in no longer going after the Obama administration. The demotion of whistleblower Gregory Hicks after the attack us used as evidence, whether true or not. The ad goes on to ask ” Was she part of the cover-up?” The ad then answers in the affirmative, after airing her saying “What difference does it make?” Never mind that Republicans always omit the next sentence, which was “It is our job to find out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from happening again.” But that isn’t good material for an attack ad.

The fact that American Crossroad is trying so hard to connect Benghazi to Clinton shows us the large role hyperpartisan shadow money groups okay in our politics. The IRS targeting Tea Party groups seeking tax exempt status is completely wrong. But investigating the many shadow money groups playing politics while doling out tax breaks to donors is overdue. This is mist likely the earliest presidential attack ad in history.

This shows the fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans turned Benghazi into a political stunt to attack a “potential” Democrat candidate for president. Republicans say that Democrats used Sandy Hook that way. But there was a difference, it wasnt used as an attack ad, the parents of those children created their own lobbying group to confront the NRA. Benghazi was a tragedy, but the way Republicans are politicizing it is a travesty.

Rush Limbaugh, the hypocrite and bigot, how does he have a radio show?

As I have said in some of my earlier posts I listen to conservative talk radio sometimes because we do nit have a progressive channel. It also truly prepares me for how to debate concervatives. They listen to Rush Limbaugh like he is quoting the Bible. If you look up what get says you will actually see that he skews every story to fit his agenda.

What I just said was a play on what he was saying today. He was saying that the media is totally flawed because they are liberals who present their agenda in every story. The media has let the American people down because every news story they write is skewed to get their liberal agenda across. I realize that I said that twice but I can’t get over Rush Limbaugh saying it.

This is a man who called Sandra Fluke a who’re, yet has been married 4 times. He at one time went into rehab for drug abuse. A good conservative Catholic does not get a divorce or did they change that to keep the rich coming to church.

This man speaks as if he doesn’t twist the news to work for his agenda. He turns everything into a President Obama conspiracy. He forced the IRS to look at Tea Party organizations who were looking for tax exempt status. He blamed President Obama for the Benghazi situation. He praises John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Mitchell Mcconnell and Marco Rubio as Herod of the American cause. He tends to leave out the parts where Republicans are trying to take away our civil rights.

Democrats are evil to this man. They do nothing but hurt the country to Rush Limbaugh. He at one point was the shining example if conservative Republicans, then he started letting Hus true identity show. He let on that he was a bigot and a sexist. He has lost a lot of advertisers and is now distinguish his company money. The Stop Rush movement has gained traction as is causing Hus corporate advertisers to drop like flies. One step closer to removing this man from the radio.

Hillary Clinton in 2016.

If Hillary Clinton wasnt running against President Obama I would have voted for her, as would have many others. She just ran into a steamroller. I honestly believe Hillary would make an excellent President, but I thought President Obama would be better. I am very pleased with President Obama.

In a current Gallup Poll, which could be trash, she had a 64% favorable rating as opposed to 32% who didn’t like her. Vice President Joe Biden  who might also run, depending on who they think will win, is at 45% favorable and 42% unfavorable. 9 out of every 10 Democrats look at Hillary Clinton favorably. Compared to Chris Christie, Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan, Hillary beat them all. The only close one is with Governer Chris Christie and she beats him by 3 percentage points. V.P. Hidebound bests all but Christie,  but they are close races.

Hillary had stepped back from politics when she stepped down as Secretary of State. Many believe she did this to prepare for her run for President. She recently came out in support of gay marriage, as are several other senators. She is strong on foreign policy and defense. She has a good record on education. She is a warrior for the middle class.

In 2016 my vote will go to Hillary Clinton. She will make a fantastic President and continue pulling our country put of the doldrums. We will be stronger with her than without. I hope we can continue improving our country and helping our people, I believe Hillary can do just that.

Marco Rubio’s stand against gun control.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fl) says that he would like to weaken existing gun laws by decreasing the number of background checks required for people who apply for concealed carry permits. When asked during an interview with FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace, whether Rubio’s filibuster of a bill to expand background checks to include gun shows and internet sales meant that he would also vote against a final bipartisan bill. He replied “Well to be fair, I haven’t read it in its totality. But I can tell you this, I an very skeptical of any plan that deals with the 2nd amendment because invariably these gun laws end up impeding on the rights of people to bear arms, who are law abiding citizens. They do nothing to keep criminals from buying them, criminals don’t care what the law is.”

Senator Rubio has supported background checks in Florida. But the background checks are for people who have concealed weapons permits. He doesn’t believe that people would honor background checks in all 50 states. He said that if someone goes to another state to buy a gun , do they have to undergo another background check or will the concealed weapons permit be den facto proof that he is not a criminal.

Senator Rubio also backed the NRA supported concealed carry reciprocrocity, an initiative which would require concealed weapons permits to be accepted universally, across the country. This would force states with tighter permit restrictions to accept permit holders from states with looser ones. Rubio’s comments do not acknowledge that the requirements for concealed carry permits vary from state to state. States rights are a very large part of the Republican platform. It also ignores that a person can commit a criminal act after they have received a concealed carry permit. Plus, permit issuers don’t always catch criminals or the mentally unstable. A 2012 investigation that found that Rubio’s home state of Florida did not check the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System when issuing concealed carry permits. They overlooked 1.5 million records of Americans with mental illness the database contains.

He said focusing on gun control wasn’t the way to prevent future shootings like the one in Newtown. Instead he said the country needed to focus obser addressing violence and mental health issues in general. He cited the decline of the American family as a reason for increased gun violence in the country. His comments are in line with the NRAs position on gun control legislation. NRA Executive VP Wayne Lapierre made comments similar to Rubio’s, recently claiming that Connecticuts new gun laws have only made the law books bigger for law abiding people. Rubio’s comments aren’t suprising, in March he joined a group of Republicans that threatened to block gun control legislation in the Senate.

Obviously Senator Rubio does not believe in the Democratic process, as 90% of Americans want some common sense gun legislation. Republicans obviously don’t care what people want, in shows in their inability to win an election. But the Democrats who voted against it are perplexing. Not listening to your cobstitutuents will get you voted out of office. So keep up the good work for the NRA, I am sure they will hire you when you are voted out of office.
