The Republican government shutdown.

I spent yesterday awestruck at how people would blame President Obama for this shutdown. As odd as it sounds these people are saying Republicans are doing the right thing. Shutting down the government to shutdown a law you don’t like is incredible. The ACA is law and that will not change. Why is helping people get affordable health care such a problem?

Republicans want to negotiate, at the last minute. The 18 times Democrats tried to negotiate and go to conference since April were apparently not good enough. Republicans shot it down everytime. Why negotiate at the last minute? To fool gullible Americans into thinking they care. They are not negotiating, they are trying to force an issue through hurting the American people and economy. That is not governing, I don’t know what it is. Sadly people buy into this.

Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and all these other right wing radio host spread hate. They dislike President Obama’s policies, so they spew vitriol in order to polarize the public that listens to them. They spread lies about the ACA, which host Chuck Todd said the main stream media does not need to correct. Isnt the media a vehicle for the public to learn the truth or is it just a vehicle to spread Republican rhetoric. Sadly it seems to be the latter. They, those who are closest to the mess that is Congress know the truth. But the truth doesn’t seem to matter.

The American public is being duped by a party of hate. This is a party that was against medicare, social security, food stamps, extending unemployment, the Veterans Jobs Bill and VAWA. Isn’t it obvious that these people do not care about the American public. These are the people who give rich farmers free money, $200 billion to corporate welfare and believe corporations are people that aren’t governed by the same laws as people. This is a party controlled by corporate interests. The Tea Party was created by the Koch brothers, who have ties to the NRA and ALEC. How is that grassroots?

Republicans were giddy about shutting the government down, their own words. Michelle Bachman came out and said how proud she was of the stand they are taking. Do they not realize they lost the election? The people spoke, overwhelmingly in favor of the ACA and President Obama. Get over yourselves and move on. Govern our country and stop holding the people hostage. America does not negotiate with terrorists. Especially ones in our own government.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said Congress’s actions may reduce economic growth.

Ben Bernanke said that tax increases and spending cuts during slow economy can reduce economic growth by 1.5%. He told the Senate Banking Committee that the Fed’s low interest rate policies have carried an awful lot of the burden to drive economic growth. As well as the Fed’s $85 billion a month bond buying program. He said the Fed would happily share the burden with a gridlocked Congress.

Congress focus on the Federal Defecit has been detrimental to economic growth. Republicans have pushed for austerity, wide, deep sweeping spending cuts. They have also supported the Sequester, which has caused many thousands of furloughs, as well as job losses. Democrats and President Obama have pushed for tax increases. They are trying to raise taxes on the super wealthy, as well as trying to get big corporations to pay their fair share of taxes.

Republicans said that they wanted dollar for dollar tax increases to spending cuts. They got $4 in spending cuts to $1 in tax increases. Any issue President Obama stands for Republicans stand against. Even if Republicans have supported it recently. Republicans have shot down 2 seperate Jobs Bills, one a Veterans Job Bill, that would have created more than 1 million jobs. Republicans inability to compromise has caused the gridlock plaguing America.

Senate Republican Bob Corker said Congress has grown to dependent on the Fed’s efforts to drive growth. Senate Republican Tom Coburn said ” We have let you down. The kindergarten of Congress has let you down by not doing the things to create confidence in the business community.” These 2 Republicans say this, yet support the Republican agenda of obsuruction. They have presented 44 anti-abortion bills, 99 bills about religion, several hundred spending cut bills, 445 Congressional hearings and ZERO bills to create jobs. Democrats have proposed tax increases.

While I realize Ben Bernanke may be uncomfortable calling out a party, someone needs to. President Obama and Democrats do it, but people are swayed by main stream media calling them horrible people. In many cases they tell half the story that suits their political agenda. I do not believe that Democrats didnt do anything wrong. They have screwed up quite a few times. But that pales in comparison to the Republicans intentionally harming the country to hurt President Obama. That is not a successful policy. In fact it has hurt American and no one is holding them responsible.

Conservatives refuse to acknowledge Bush 43.

Yesterday on Twitter I debated one, then several Republicans. Started off with one, then it became 6. I do not understand how their set of facts and truths are so different from mine. Nor do I understand how they refuse to blame George W. Bush for anything. I actually had one tell me that Bush was trying to fix the Banks, according to them he did not deregulate anything.

As the conversation went on, they blamed Bill Clinton and President Obama for everything that happened during Bush 43’s 2 terms. According to these people Clinton caused the financial collapse and housing market collapse. Bush did nothing to cause this, although he was President for 7 years when all of this happened. According to these people the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were run properly and there was no hidden agenda.

They blame President Obama for not creating jobs, but put no blame on Republican led House, although they shot down a Veterans Jobs Bill and a Jobs Bill. Collectively they would have created as many as 1.5 million jobs, effectively lowering the 7.6 unemployment rate and helping economy. They do not recognize this as happening. They attack President Obama about Benghazi, but say the 11 embassy attacks and near 60 deaths in Bush term were acceptable because we were at war. War on Terror is still in progress, not all embassy attacks happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The whole Republican party philosophy shows here. If they cannot convince you that act like young children. Yes it devolved to them calling names and cursing. If you disagree with their views, you are dumb, stupid, a terrorist and a Muslim. Apparently religious views are no longer protected by their beloved Constitution, which Democrats protect more. This is why Congress is in gridlock. Republicans have own facts and refuse to acknowledge any other views. In my experience many, not all are bigoted, short sighted people. It only matters when it happens to them. Of Trayvon Martin was their child, their opinion of him being responsible for own death would be different. We live in a country of many views and ethnicities, people need to be more open minded.

Temp. Employees hiring marks a less committed relationship between Corporation and employee.

One corner of the U.S. ecomomy is hiring prolifically, temp. Workers. Many large companies are moving towards hiring temp employees. WalMart, General Motors and PepsiCo are a few of the largest. There are currently 17 million temp.employees or 12% of the entire workforce in the nation.

The temp. hiring shows many employers are looking for cheap solutions. Temp. hiring has jumped abput 50% since the worst of the Great Recession ended. There are now 2.7 million temp. employees, the most on record since 1990. This trend is a way for companies to avoid paying employees well, as well as avoiding to provide Health Care for employees. These companies are making very high profits, but refuse to treat employees better. High bonuses go to CEOs while workers barely get raises.

Temps. recieve low pay, few benefits and zero job security. Temp. employment offers little stability and forces families into tougher situations. It causes employees to constantly change jobs, as well as shifts, making it difficult for families to adapt. Thess hiring tendencies show the true disconnect between corprations and people. WalMart alone is detrimental to government spending. WalMart is basically subsidized by our Federal Government. Low wages cause employees to qualify for Government Assistance, the SNAP Program, medical assistance and Home Heating Assistance. One WalMart store in Wisconsin cost taxpayers $900,00, one store.

President Obama over the last 5 years has presented Congress with a Jobs Bill and a Veterans Jobs Bill. The 2 Bills together would have created approximately 2 million more jobs, almost the same amount as Temp. employees. Senate Republicans Filibustered both and House Republicans unanimously voted against both Bills. Much to the chagrin of Republicans, President Obama and Democrats have the economy headed in the right direction. Republicans Union Busting Bills and lackadaisical approach to jobs is hurting the U.S. worker. Over the last 4 years, Republicans have produced 44 Anti-Abortion Laws and 71 Pro-Religious Laws, but zero JOBS.

The Gop should focus less on scandals and more on policy.

If the last few months are any indication the Republicans are more worried about hurting President Obama’s legacy than creating jobs. While all of their focus has been on exploiting scandals our economy is recovering, the Market has set all time highs and stayed there. They focus on scandals and President Obama’s policy have gotten the unemployment rate below 8% where it has stayed.

Focusing on scandals backfired in 1998, when Republicans were trying to smear then President Bill Clinton. He was the first incumbent President to retain all of his party’s seats. Policy means more than exploiting scandals. These manufactured scandals have not done much to harm the President’s approval rating.

The Republicans have had the majority in the House for over 2 years and have not created any jobs. In fact they caused job losses with their support of the Sequester. How do Republicans think they are going to connect President Obama with the IRS scandal? At what point would he have sent personalized letter head to a lower level employee to do something illegal. It is a witch hunt to take the focus off of his agenda.

Republicans kept complaining that Democrats didn’t have a budget. Now they have one and Republicans don’t want to come to the table to work on it. For liberals and Democrats it bodes well for our candidates that Republicans are focused on scandals. They have a short attention span anyway and will forget what they said yesterday. The Republicans will do something soon to take the focus off of these fake scandals.

GOP actually pays attention to Alex Jones newest conspiracy theory.

From day one Republicans were trying to find a way to remove President Obama from office. They have manufactured crises, made issues bigger than what they truly were and Filibustered more bills than at any other time in American history. In their attempts to hurt him, they have embarrassed themselves and hurt their fellow Americans.

From doctoring emails on the Benghazi attack, which they tried to make Obama’s albatross, to fighting against Gun Control for the NRA, Republicans have gone above and beyond in their efforts to destroy him. They tried to hang poor job numbers on him,  but have done nothing in the 2 years they have had the majority in the House. They have Filibustered more bills in his terms than at any other time in American history. They used the Sequester instead of closing corporate loopholes and corporate welfare.

But giving credence to Alex Jones is a new l low. This man is a crackpot who is making American journalism look like a joke. His conspiracy theories are the ravings of a lunatic. He said that the Boston Marathon Bombing was a false flag, basically saying that the government was behind it. He said that President Obama was a homosexual who had his ex-lovers killed. He has a long list that gets further and further from sanity.

His new theory is a complete joke. He believes the government has a weather weapon that it used to create the tornadoes in Oklahoma. I mean seriously, was he watching Austin Powers recently. This is Scooby Doo type stuff. There is no substance to any of his theories, just supposition and ridiculous assumptions. He makes Glenn Beck look sane and FOXNEWS felt Beck was to far gone for them.

The fact that Republicans give Alex Jones credence shows the desperation they truly feel. They thought for sure they would win the 2012 election, they lost; but don’t seem to realize it. Republicans have lost touch with reality in their attempts to oust the Democrats. If Democrats start acting like these nutjobs, I will walk away from the party. I am a Democrat because they help the people and remain sane when the other party is in power. These are grown, educated men and women who are acting the fool. Grow up and think of country first and maybe things will get better quicker.

Despite Republicans best efforts to scandalize President Obama, they keep coming out looking worse than him.

President Obama does not have any friends in the Republican party. Republicans seem to despise him. They wanted to start impeachment precedings 7 weeks into his first term. 7 weeks! They didn’t have a reason, they just thought it was a good idea. Tea Party, the zealot wing of the Republican party, has called for his impeachment repeatedly.

The IRS, AP and Benghazi “scandals” were like gold to Republicans. They thought for sure they were going to find something to hurt his reputation. Of course in their eagerness to get him, the Republicans make their own scandals. The Benghazi emails were doctored by the Republicans, don’t know who yet, to make the Obama administration look bad. Republicans lying, who would have thunk that. IRS could be bad, but there is not any evidence to connect the President to it and the AP subpoenas are actually supported by Republicans.

Republicans screamed about high unemployment rate of 8%, he gets it down to 7.5% and Republicans change the subject. They scream about our rising deficit, but are suddenly quiet when they find out our deficit is shrinking. He tries to create jobs, Obama’s Jobs Bill, using ideas Republicans had and they shoot it down. They have voted 38 times to repeal the ACA, costing us over $50 million, but use the savings from it to balance Paul Ryans budget.

Democrats propose Assault Weapons and High Capacity Magazine bans and Republicans won’t even allow it to come to a vote. Manchin/Toomey Universal Background Check Bill was shot down by Republicans, although it was a piece of bipartisan legislation. They voted against VAWA , then claimed they voted for it.

Republicans almost single handedly created the gridlock that grinds Congress to a halt. Many of the Republicans actions in my opinion are treasonous, they intentionally harm the country and people they are there to serve. The 2014 election should show the true direction of our country, I hope to see Republicans voted out of office.
