President Obama’s second term has an inauspicious beginning.

President Obama has a very aggressive second term agenda. He wants to get Gun Control, raise the minimum wage, equal pay for women, create more middle class jobs and get all kids into Pre-K education. The Sequester has hamstring his education efforts and Republicans have done their best on others. As well as the NRA and other lobbyist firms.

What is taking the headlines now is the DOJ getting phone records of the AP, Benghazi and its whistleblowers and the IRS targeting Tea Party groups. The DOJ taking the AP phone records is technically legal and Republicans are to blame for that. President Obama tried to put in a media shield but Republicans voted against it. That is not a large issue.

Benghazi has turned into a political witch hunt. It is the Republicans way of damaging Hillary Clinton before the 2016 presidential election. Karl Rove released an attack ad, using Benghazi as his reason for Clinton not being a good candidate. All questions have been answered,  emails have been released and it is just Republicans playing defense. I don’t think I heard them mention Republicans voting to cut half a billion dollars from the State Department budget. That cost about 300 security personnel.

The IRS may be the problem. I am a strong President Obama supporter, but if get was complicity with this he should be held responsible. I don’t think he did, but the fact that it happened links him to 43. Democrats need to find the truth because Republicans will pervert anything to take him down. As I said if he is complicit he should be held responsible.

Shrouded in these “scandals” is some good things. Our economy is recovering, unemployment rate is down, the debt ceiling is improving as well as our shrinking deficit. Republicans stay away from these things, because they can’t use them against him. The President will move past these things like he always does, dignified and intelligently. Our nation is on the right track, look at the numbers.

Republican ideology us fundamentally flawed, elections are only proof I really need.

The Republican party is perplexed as to why they cannot win a Presidential election. After what George W. Bush did to our country, how fan you blame people for mistrusting your party. He lied us into a major war, didn’t pay the tab for both wars we were in and his economic policies decimated our country. Yet Republicans push the blame on President Obama and expect the country to forget what Bush and his cronies did.

The Republican party now says they want to reach out to Latinos, yet one Republican lawmaker from Alaska called them “wetbacks” and the Heritage Foundation, a Republican thinktank, had a known racist assist in writing their immigration study. Of course you can’t forget Rush Limbaugh and the prophet Glenn Beck for their wonderful support of women.

Instead of focusing on our economy and creating jobs, they are focused on Benghazi. Yes it was a tragedy, we already had hearings, figured out the problems and put things in place to hopefully prevent it from happening again. Remember there were 11 attacks on embassies/consulates during Bush’s tenure, with about 60 deaths and not one Republican called for a Congressional hearing.

While Republicans are busy protecting our 2nd Amendment, they continuing stepping on our voting rights and our 1st Amendment rights. I guess the money the NRA gives them not only overpowers 90% of Americans, but also our Constitution. They force creationism and their religious beliefs on abortion on us. Abortion us legally protected by our Constitution, which also days Federal law is the law of the land. So why don’t states follow or.

Democrats offer more stability and are there for all the people, not just 7% of them. Compromise is the true key to Democracy, when one side won’t compromise nothing will happen. So until Republicans realize it is not their way or the highway we can never move forward as a country.

President Obama represented Hope and Change. What do Republicans represent?

When President Obama took his first oath of office it was in front of more people than ever before. He ran on Hope and Change and he truly attempted to do it. He did get a lot done for Americans, although he ran into Republican obstruction at every step. His first 4 years were tumultuous,  mostly because of Republicans. Our economy was improving we were getting closer to getting out of 2 wars. He was getting things done.

His second term started off with a very ambitious State of the Union. He wanted gun control, to strengthen the middle class, allow gay marriage, raise the federal minimum wage and equal pay for women to name a few. Republicans immediately came out attacking trying to prevent these things. They have won on a few, list on a few and looked like complete fools at other times. But President Obama is a persistent guy and will accomplish many of these things. Democrats will work together and further the Presidents domestic agenda. We will see social improvement.

To show how limited Republicans are in their attacks, they have had one major attack since 7 weeks into President Obama’s first term. They wanted to impeach him 7 weeks into his first term. They wanted to impeach him because he was destroying the country, by using executive orders. They wanted to impeach him 9 months into first term starting an impeachment petition. They wanted to impeach him for immigration, his real birth certificate, over DOMA, over Fast and Furious, The Debt Ceiling, to obstruct him from pursuing his agenda, because Russian will declare war on us, if he doesn’t extend the Bush Tax Cuts and he should be impeached over Gun Control and also because he aided and abetted the Black Panther Party to further his fascist agenda.

This is plain ridiculus, they lost the election and instead of standing with the President, they are searching for ways to get rid of him. If they compromised and met him halfway and country would be in a better position, economically and politically. But instead they incite hatred of a man who is attempting to help Americans.

The sad part is that our country suffers for thus shenanigans. We need leaders who are wiling to work together to further our American agenda. I am sure they truly care about something aside from themselves but Republicans are failing to show that. I am afraid that Republicans are going to damage our country beyond repair and Democrats will let it happen. But instead of despair I am hopeful because the American spirit and will will somehow overcome the nonsense and more leaders will make solid decisions.

Is there a fracture in Republican solidarity over the recent Heritage Foundation immigration report?

Senator Marco Rubio disputes the recently released study from the conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation. It warned that comprehensive immigration reform would cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion. Senator Rubio is a member of the bipartisan group of 8 that is ushering an immigration bilk through the Senate. Rubio said that it was not a legitimate study, because it is based over 50 years and overestimates the number of people who willhe included in the system. This represents a growing fracture in the conservative movement that we have only recently seen.

There is a bit of futility in the Republican party trying to do a minority outreach when your party’s platform is openly hostile to non-white voters. This of course is highlighted by the Heritage Foundation study that said Latino immigrants should be admitted to the U.S. only sparingly, because their supposedly low brain power will cost the country trillions of dollars. The Heritage Foundation was established as the intellectual clearing house for American conservatives. This group has sponsored studies and polls that have formed the intellectual foundation of conservative policy for a generation.

Recently the organization was taken over by former South Carolina Senator Jim Demint, under whose stewardship the group authored the spurious immigration study. The goal of this study history undermine the immigration reform currently underway in Congress. Heritage fellow Jason Richeine, who co-authored the report, said that Latino immigrants would cost the U.S. that money in lost production and social programs because Latino immigrants are a burden on society.

Richwine wrote 2 articles for a website run by Richard Spencer, The website if you look it is a white supremacy site, spouting many of the hateful things that were heard before and during the Civil Rights movement. The 2 stories dealt with crime rates among Hispanics in the U.S. describes itself as dedicated to heretical perspectives on society and culture popular, high and otherwise particularly those informed by radical,  traditionalist and nationalist outlooks. Richeines articles were a push back on an American conservative essay that argued that some conservatives have over hyped the crime rate among Hispanics

This report caused a little rift in the Republican party. Some conservatives want to stop immigration reform, not wanting to enable Latinos to vote. Yet others want to sway Latinos to their side. Regardless of their problems, Democrats have been a steady hand in trying to push immigration reform through the gridlock we call government. They may not agree on exactly how to do it, but the party seems united in its will to do it.

Sometimes when I write these blogs I find myself writing horrible things. These are not things that I have said, but all the same they leave a terrible taste in my mouth. I would like to be naive and believe that our elected leaders would never sink to these depths, but I would be very disappointed. Although these people are human, they should realize that what they day has very long reaching consequences. That many a person take a snide remark and it will become part of their political ideology. To shape a better union we need to expect better of our leaders. They need to leave bigotry, racism and all other petty things on the steps before our hallowed halls. I have never been a fan of Republicans, but they can being good things to the table, only if they focus on whats necessary and forget the lobbyist.

The National Policy Institute, for white nationalists.

The National Policy Institute is a think tank dedicated to white Nationalism. Their slogan us for our people, our culture and our future. They are very specific when they say “our”. It seems as if it is a new shine on White Supremacy. Of course it would be in Montana.

They ask Who stands for us? Why isn’t there an organization that works for us? From African Americans to illegal immigrants to left handers and lesbians and gays. Every ethnic and interest group has its own foundation. The only exception is the white Americans. Our country’s historic majority and founding population. The people that bears the unique heritage of Christianity, Europe, cultural excellence and scientific awakening. There are also our peculiar folk ways, holidays, traditions and customs that make us uniquely European and uniquely American. Only we are who we are. Richard Spencer, the Director of the National policy Institute.

He goes on to say that as long as whites continue to avoid and denture their own racial identity. At a time when almost every other racial and ethnic category is rediscovering and asserting their own. Whites will have no chance to resist their dispossession. This is their challenge,  this is their calling, won’t you join them.

They are just trying to update the racist image. They do not want interbreeding, protect the sanctity of whiteness from inferior races. They are not only an online group, they also hold conferences. They share a P.O Box with an online racist forum, called the Alternative Right. It is dedicated to hrectical perspectives. Particularly those informed by radical, traditionalist and nationalist outlooks.

This is directly linked to the biggest legislation in the country now. Our immigration reform. This is supported by Republicans. Immigration reform started its way through government today. Republicans introduced 126 Amendments to the bill today. The Heritage Foundation, one of the countries most powerful thinktanks, came out against immigration reform. Thus Heritage Foundation report was partially written by Jason Richwine, wrote a dissertation saying that Latinos had lower IQs. He also wrote an article for the racist website Alternative Right.

This is not something Democrats would do. They are truly trying to reform our immigration. Republicans apparently side with racists and bigots and it shows in there ideology and the way they speak. They must believe this stuff if they keep saying it. Good luck trying to get any minority to vote for you clowns. I don’t agree with any of this and it bothered me to write it. But I needed to do it. People need to know about the racists that Republicans support.

Immigration reform, something needs to be done.

Whenever I am around people the conversation usually turns to politics. I think this has to do with the fact that I am a progressive Democrat, who is quite liberal. Many of the people I end up debating are of course Republicans, whose ideals are a direct contradiction to mine. Which I am fine with, but please if you are going to rip up President Obama and his policies please speak the truth about his policies not his personality. His policies affect our day to day life, not his attitude.

Today I was told that this person didn’t like Obama, it had nothing to do with his policies or what he did to help us, it is because he is arrogant. I did not like George W. Bush, not because he was a simple minded fool, but because he lied to us and nearly brought our country to its knees. I supported his going into Afghanistan, wrong or not, we needed to get Bin Laden. I did not support Iraq, because I didn’t think we needed to be there or fight 2 wars at once.

The disturbing part of the conversation was about immigration reform. It was said that we should deport all of them, although the children born here are legally American citizens. While I do agree with the fact that everyone should be required to learn English, I think deporting anyone other than criminals is dumb. That is not the answer. A pathway to citizenship seems like a better course. Give them 5-7 years to be naturalized. If we make them citizens they will pay taxes, creating more revenue for government.

It is ignorant thinking like this that is causing the polarization on every issue. The only issue Republicans will agree with Democrats on is making sure there are no delays at airports. They will let the Sequester take food away from kids and cancer medicine from the elderly but don’t make a Congressman wait for a flight. We are moving from one created issue to another so Republicans can avoid working for the people. I don’t know the right way to take care of immigration reform, but I can assure you deporting them all isn’t the answer.

Boston Marathon bombing facts keep unfolding.

Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev bombed the Boston Marathon, car jacked a man and held him hostage, shot an MIT security officer and had a shoot-out and threw IEDs at police. Tamerlan was shot and killed and Dzhokhar is currently in custody. 3 other individuals have been arrested in connection with this tragedy.

Three things happened during investigation that now make more sense. 2 people were arrested and detained on immigration violations the day after suspect was caught. The shutdown of UMASS Dartmouth. The FBI searching a landfill, we now know what they were looking for and that they found it.

The 2 individuals were in court via video conferencing. The judge told them they were being held because of expired student visas. They were told at first hearing that they weren’t charged with a crime. By the afternoon they and 1 other were charged with a crime. Both were from Kazakhstan. The three young men went to hos dorm room and took a laptop and a bookbag. The bookbag contained the remains of fireworks, fireworks were said to have been used to help create bombs. The reason the school was shut down the same down the FBI interviewed third suspect. The FBI was at the landfill because the other 2 told them when and where they dumped the bag. The FBI has found the laptop. Tie 2 young Kazahk men were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and can get up to 5 years in prison. The other kid was charged with lying to law enforcement and can get 8 years in prison. All three are eseentially accused of blocking the investigation into the Boston bombing by lying and hiding evidence.

Dzhokhar has reportedly told interagators than Tamarlan built the bombs in his house. His house was paid for by Section 8 housing. It also calls into question how much his wife knows. He also told the FBI that he and his brother would watch Al Qaida leaders speeches on line. So of course conservatives and Republicans are jumping to conclusions.

John Mccain came out speaking about people from known terrorist regions immigrating into the U.S. and how we should no longer allow it. Democrats and Republicans cannot play politics on immigration reform. They need to move forward with a reasonable plan and present it to President Obama. We cannot blame a whole group of people for the actions of a few. That is un-American.
